Bought a new house in Mankato and contacted Key City for electric work. Jason and Jose were quick to come out and troubleshoot the problems. All work was completed quickly and as quoted. Text messaging with appointments and when en route were much appreciated. Pictures of completed work were also nice since I was out of town. I will keep them in my contacts for future needs.

Fast service, friendly staff, reasonable rates and was given a few options on how to solution what I needed done. I will absolutely be booking them for my next electrical need. Great work!

Key City Electric and Home Services did an outstanding job performing the electrical work I requested. They took the time to listen to what I was trying to accomplish and provided suggestions about how best to meet our needs. Then they proceeded to efficiently accomplish the work. My wife and I were very impressed with how professional the completed project looked–the best looking install we’ve ever had in our unfinished basement. We would absolutely recommend this company and hope they will be available the next time we need electrical work done.

In the large community of contractors there will be hits and misses. I have had other electricians out to my residence to complete pressing and not so pressing fixes. Work was satisfactory from these entities. This time I decided to give Key City Electric a shot due to lack of timely availability, they hit the mark on timeliness and efficiency.
We recently replaced our siding on a 40+ year old home that we have put constant money and attention into updating. For this service call we needed all 6 of our electrical fixtures wired and checked for code. This unfortunately became a bigger job than expected. The siding company did not provide a proper electrician to extend wire during the siding process which a lesson learned. Should have called Key City first.
I was able to call and have an appointment slot within two days, other company’s were a week or more out. Yes, they operate on open schedules. I see plenty of complaints about them showing up “late” etc. There is no “late” when they give you the window. If you are a reasonable human being it’s understood jobs can have hiccups and find deeper seeded problems and may require more attention. Get a clue to those who had this complaint. Our appointment took two days and I was fine with that due to the level of detail Sam went through regarding the need to move junction boxes because the siding company performed uncentered work. This obviously increased the price but we wanted it done right.
Sam was thorough and went through our electrical panel exposing future issues that will arise. I was grateful knowing what possibly can go wrong in the future on a house that was wired by the original owner and later updated. Was guessing there would be some gremlins. Him not wanting to be the bearer of bad news I was grateful he exposed this even though the cost of panel replacement was hard to stomach.
Work was completed after additional materials procured and arrived within the window and completed all work quickly and accurately. The fixtures look fabulous and I can rest easy that I professional licensed electrician has it done correctly.
The cost I believed to be in the average to slightly above average after some research but willing to pay that extra premium for the service received. Will recommend to others and will be using Key City in the future.
**** The unfavorable reviews on Key City appear sketchy to say the least, I can fathom a couple of them but not the individual who posted the same grievance 3 times. Allow new ownership to establish and I think they will have their reputation grow.

You get what you pay for with this team. They weren’t cheap, no good electrician is, but they did great and timely work with minimal mess. Very respectful and professional.
I hung a 220v electric heater in my two car garage, and had them come out for wiring install as it was a bit out of my league. I also had them run a new conversion switch panel, so I could run my entire HVAC off a generator if need be. They did very minimal cutting, and everything looks very neat and tidy.

We had Craig do a small rewiring job in our house after finding a scorched wire, and I couldn’t be more impressed. He was very friendly and professional and explained the reasons for his recommendations. He gave us three choices to address the problem and estimates for each. Scheduling was easy and service was great, and he stopped in this morning to check on a question/issue we had. I will definitely use Key City Electric again when needed and request Craig!

Sam came out to my house and was very knowledgeable.
